Today's MRI results

Once again thanks so very much for all your thoughts, prayers and support. My MRI today was NEGATIVE (meaning no re occurrence of tumors at this time). Do I dare believe this ugly cancer is in remission? I feel uncertain of the next steps. I will meet with someone soon about going back to work, at least a few hours a week. I have such mixed emotions. All I have known this passed year is a life fighting cancer. This sounds so weird, but I am about as uncertain about what going back to work means, as I was about my journey with cancer. I guess that's what it's all about, the next journey.

How do I possibly thank all of you for your support on the 1st annual Brains together for a cure" walk. I have no words to describe how full my heart was on Saturday. Although I may not have spent the time a should have with you, please know each familiar face I saw warmed my heart, and will never be forgotten. Thanks also to so many of you whom couldn't be there but sent donations. A special thanks goes out to a group of people in Kansas (many of whom I have never met). Together they gave $630 to our cause. One of the many surprising, amazing, things about the day, was the connections that were made between those of us with brain cancer. I believe from that day forward, we will become close friends. We need each other and are planning to meet together now and then.

October Update

Hi to all, October is already here, ready or not. It's always been Ed and my favorite time of the year. The garden and canning is done, football has began, time to cut wood and get ready for another winter. Praise the Lord!

In late September we went to visit Holly and Steve in KC. We had such a great time. We got tickets to the Vikings/Chiefs game the day before. It was a beautiful day, Holly and Steve had done all the work for the tail gating before and after the game. Isn't is amazing to see our adult children entertain us. They did not leave out a detail. However our beloved Vikings lost to Steve's Chiefs. But a good time was had by all, and Steve never mentioned our loss.

For those of you that had heard, I was interviewed by someone on staff of the Oprah show a few weeks back. Seems late Oct, early Nov they are doing a show on terminal patients dealing with there lives being cut short. Mayo called and asked if they could give them my name. Well to make a long story short, they did not get back to me. Therefore I can assume I will not be flying to Chicago to be on the show. I got the feeling during the interview that they were looking for people with a very short time to live. Although it would have been awesome to share my faith and God's grace with others, it wasn't meant to be.

Looking forward to Oct 27th when Holly, Steve, Drew, Keeley, Mom's, sisters, family, friends join us on the "Brains together for a cure" walk.
