Negative MRI

Praise the Lord, and thanks so much for all of your thoughts and prayers. The MRI is not showing any signs of recurrence at this time. We will do this all over again in 2 months. Thanks so very much for all your support. I will now be getting back to life as I once knew it. At this time I am still off of work until the end of October. If I get another neg. MRI, it will be time to get back to work. In the meantime I will be getting into some volunteer work and bible study at church.

Night before my MRI

I decided to write tonight. It may be a long night. It's always hard to sleep well the night before you get your MRI result. Once we hear, we can deal with anything, it's just that the hope of it being negative, and the fear of it being positive, gets me anxious and the mind wanders. Anyway, I wanted to write a quick note about our August. Ed and I, along with Jay (neighbor I sat with on the plane), Chuck and Diane, had a fabulous trip to Alaska. The sights were breath taking, the white water rapids were accelerating, the Glacier cruise amazing, yet soggy, the outhouse visits were interesting, the motor home and company "PRICELESS." No matter where I go, or how beautiful the scenery, its the people I enjoy the most. They always fill my soul!

Then the day after we got back we were personally invited by Frank Viola and wife Kathy to be their guests at Sundays Twins game for the 20th reunion. We joined them in the suite where about 12 of his teammates and families watched the game. Most of you know how special "my Twins" have been in our life. From a little girl listening on a scratchy radio with my dad (he died 1 year before they won the series in 87) to always listening-watching during yard work, housework, etc, etc. Anyway my point! The Twins have always entertained us night after night. They have always been part of our lives. For one day, Ed and I were part of their lives. Once bigger then life to us, now sharing a day with them. "Sweet Music" what can I say, you and Kathy are unbelievable, kind, caring, giving people! Our lives are forever touched by your thoughtfulness. Once again, we are truly blessed.

There are so many of you that I have yet to get back to, for that I apologize. You all mean so much to me. The get-to-gathers, cards, prayer's. I have so many thank yous to get to, and people to get in touch with. Also, one last thing, to our neighbors whom are always here for us, your the best!!!!! If we ever need company, a hug, or anything, we just walk out or front door. I hope you know your friendships are never taken for granted..

August update

August update

Hello everyone, I hope you don't feel like I have forgotten any of you! I have had a busy month. First of all I haven't been to Mayo since my last treatment the end of June. What have I been doing? Well....I have enjoyed quality time with my two awesome adult children, Ed, family and friends. My nephew is out of the service now so sister Nancy and family had the Indrelie side for the weekend, Ed's sister and family were here from New Mexico for a week, my girlfriend's and I spent a lazy Friday in Lake City sitting in the park, we moved Holly back to Kansas. She is happy with her new job, and grateful to see Steve everyday. She was a doll putting her life on hold and coming home to be with us. I am forever grateful!!!

I was seen in employee health the end of July and they have extended my long term to end of October. I feel a bit guilty not going back to work, and yet scared to death if I'd have too. I guess if your going to have cancer, the terminal diagnosis defiantly gives you the time you need to enjoy life.

I could have had my Aug MRI this week. I chose to wait until Ed and I return from our trip to Alaska. So I am scheduled for Aug 24th. We are flying into Anchorage with our dear friends Chuck and Diane. Then getting a motorhome and traveling the southern part of the state. It will be a different trip than I am use to, but the company and sights will be heavenly. When I get back, I am looking into some volunteer opportunities. I know God wants me somewhere, I just not sure where yet. I need to be still and listen.

The I-35 bridge is another reminder to me that we don't have the control over our destiny as we think we do. We have this hour, this moment, make it count. God bless all of you! I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Your prayers, thoughts and postings have given me so much strength.
