Pullin' for Sue

There's a valley in Southeastern Minnesota and it seems Sue has found it. This blog is a place for friends and family to keep track of Sue's progress and also a place where prayers and concerns can be posted for Sue. Please check back often for updates and sign Sue's guest book.

My treatments are going fairly well, during my week of treatment and the week after I deal with being very tried, upset stomach and a body rash. It was a difficult month for me. Not pain or anything like that, just a whole lot of doing nothing and reaching out to find a purpose in all of this. It's a process in finding my new "normal" and letting go of the of how life used to be and embracing my life now. I find myself frustrated - just existing and not living so I am trying to follow a schedule, to get a little bit done everyday- that way I feel like I have contributed something. I used to love spending time at home. Now, it's just getting old. I want my old life back with all the lessons I have learned from my illness.

Ed is so supportive, and does so much around the house. Still finds a way to keep up with all of his work stuff. I know this isn't easy on him. Working hard everyday and then coming home to a wife that is different from the one he has always known. We try to find humor it in all. The kids are great with frequent phone calls and visits, they always lift my spirits.

Ed and I leave for Kansas this week to help Holly and Steve move into their new home. I think this will be the "pick me up" I need. What a blessing to be able to experience this with them. We are so grateful. Holly knows I may not be a ton of help, but I will do what I can. And of course give her "motherly advise", I am never short on that. It will be nice to get out of town for awhile, a nice change of scenery.

I won't have my next MRI until end of May, so until then I will keep up with my treatments as best as I can, look at all my blessings and find peace in it all. I wish all of you the best.

God's blessings
Sue

Sue - thanks for the update. I hope you have a great time in Kansas. Reminds me of dragging Lowell down to Illinois to haul my couch up three flights of narrow stairs - LOL! Good luck! Todd

Sue, I have only met you once, but know Ed well through RASC. I find your comments very uplifting, but also very real. They have inspired me to enjoy life every day. Know that you have distant acquaintances that you have made an impression on. Plus I think with your attitude and determination you will see many games in the Twins new ball park. Go Twins!!
